Last night in a restaurant for Happy Hour, they played some very fun songs from the 70s and 80s. My boyfriend and I got into a discussion of why everyone knows the lyrics to songs from these eras. I thought it would be fun to be put a song together using the lyrics from some songs I heard last night! Comment at the end withe the 3 songs 🙂
I walk along the avenue
I never thought I’d meet a girl like you
Pretty woman, walkin’ down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
I miss the earth so much – I miss my wife
It’s lonely out in space
Are you lonely just like me
Pretty woman stop awhile
Pretty woman talk awhile
With auburn hair and tawny eyes
The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through
On such a timeless flight
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
‘Till touch down brings me round again to find
I ran
I ran so far away
‘Cause I need you, I’ll treat you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight
That is so true though. I know so many oldies and NO new songs whatsoever.
I am only recognising Pretty Women and Rocket man!
Help!

Pretty Woman, and Rocket Man, and, oh, oh, oh…drat! I am humming and singing that last one in my head, but I cannot remember what it was called! Thanks for the fun memories!

I could sing along with all these. These are the songs I sang in HS. Love the way you put these together building on the familiarity while creating something new. Very cool!

My brain runs ad hoc mixes too — but mostly from 60s and 70s. California Dreamin’ and American Pie appear frequently.
