Today Nathan had the day off, so we decided to go to a park and walk around. It was the park where the Festival of Colors took place and I knew that Nathan would love it! There were many different lakes and huge open areas of grass and the amount of different bird species is fantastic.
I think our favorite bird was what we are calling a Blue Heron (I put two pictures of him, flying and standing among the reeds). He is so majestic – we just followed him slowly and took different pictures 🙂
There were probably ten different types of birds at least at the lakes and around the park! Some birds that I noticed include: Canadian geese, white geese, brown geese, swans, mallard ducks, black duck-like birds, white and brown ducks, three different types of heron, seagulls, pigeons, and swifts (the little ones zooming around in this video below).
It was really nice to get out in nature and forget about the virus for a few hours. We thought about how we didn’t have to touch anything outside before going, but other than that, it was just enjoying the wonders of nature!
What a perfect way to spend your time…amidst the wonders of nature! Nature is so peaceful and calming! Love the pictures! Beautiful!

What a great way to spend the day. It looks chilly, but rewarding. I love the photos. They bring a slice of “escape” with them. A nice break from all things pandemic!

Loved loved loved it, Hannah! I think I need to do this too. I’m so stressed out that I should go to meet those beautiful birds. It’s birding time!
