She rocks in the buildings all day long
Building her nest and singing her song
All the little birds outside Ralphs
Love to hear her babies go tweet tweet tweet

It didn’t come out in the picture (they hid since we stood there too long)
BUT inside the left hole, there were three little baby birds chirping away and the mama feeding them 😮
I have only ever seen baby birds or a nest in nature shows, so this was a great moment in our walk yesterday!
As we waited to cross the street, I could hear tweeting and knew it was close by. We looked around and then I saw that they were right above our heads 😀 We got a glimpse of their necks and beaks open for food before Mama sheltered them back in.
Something so natural for the birds can really seem foreign and so awe-inspiring. Also, the fact that the parents built a nest inside of bricks under a sign for a store shows that they can adapt to the human alterations in the natural world. I love these authentic moments 🙂
Wow, that was a wonderful experience, Hannah! I’ve never seen real baby birds but only an abandoned nest! LOL It must’ve been exciting to see them being fed! 😀 I wonder what kind of birds they were?

One of the best things about what we’re going through is the greater attention we’re paying to nature right in front of our eyes—and ears!

We once had birds build a nest by our side door. They baby bird’s beaks popping up over the top of the nest crying for food. It was quite a thing to see.
