I have been slacking on FINALLY posting the June Top 12 songs for this year..! There were shows to catch up on, work during the day, and hanging with friends that took up my mental capacity – BUT since JULY is in its last few weeks, “the time has come” (the Walrus said)
The June list consists of numerous new artists (to my ears) – from pop to indie soul to rock, I am digging the tunes that made it in June this year! Be sure to listen to the songs in the Music Sidebar on the right 🙂
“Whisper” Serpentwithfeet has a haunting repetitive tone that soothes, but also keeps your attention
“Onion” Shannon and the Clams draws you in with the interesting lyrics and holds you with the beat
“Black Sheep” MILCK took me back to younger days of struggling to fit in, but knowing there is hope
“Whatever it takes” Imagine Dragons pumps me up anytime esp. while driving to or from work
“What about the body” Donny McCaslin…those horns, man
“Gold Rush” Death Cab for Cutie lyrically grabs you with the repetitive two words that become an ear worm
“Bee kind to the bugs” Culture Abuse starts off with a great hook and makes sure to continue with the poetic drive
“Carcassone” Angelo de Augustine…simply beautiful
“Get out somehow” An Horse is great for road trips with the convertible top and windows down
“Burn the house down” AJR gives me the relaxing by the pool and summer vibe
“We all die young” and “Everything is awful” The Decemberists are great sing-alongs that perk you up as well as make you think
You guys look so happy in this photo!
“Driving along in your automobile…………!”
