Music is an essential part of giving video games a certain vibe while you play.
In the “Child of Light” game, they have a fairly intense song during battle scenes. Depending on how many times you need to redo the battle (based on the difficulty of the opponent), you hear the theme over and over again.
It is important that it isn’t something that would get boring or make you lose interest and just want to mute the sound while playing.
Even when finished playing, the battle theme was in my head for quite a while. We were fighting a big boss and needed to redo a few times as well as it taking a long time once we did win.
Music can make or break in various media. Whats your take on video game music? Do you like it or think we could do without?
No, it helps set the scene greatly. There are a lot of video game songs that are great songs. A few years ago I went to a Video Games Live concert that was all game music. It was amazing!
