I have participated in a few virtual events via zoom during lockdown. Today was a baby shower and I watched a baptism a few weeks ago.

Of course people would much rather be in person. But in some ways, I think it seems more practical. More people can be part of it who might not be able to fly out for the actual event. People take their time to say nice comments and mute when it’s not their turn. In person, everyone might not get a chance to talk to the couple or people being celebrated.

It is different than we would want, but it is an ok alternative I think.
