Through the thicket and brambles of my distracted brain, I am writing my first post since the March 2021 Slice of Life Challenge.
As my world opened up again in the Spring (with vaccines becoming available), the happiness horizon was in my sights.
Friends and family could be visited without as much as fear – hugs and pictures could happen.
Nathan (previously my boyfriend who became my fiancé last year) is now my HUSBAND! We were able to get married a few weeks ago in October 😀
We had guests Covid tested and masks worn, but it was still a fabulous weekend of meeting new family and reconnecting with old friends. Everyone coming together around our love was a strange sensation, but we have loved reminiscing about it all since the big day.
Blogging was out of my mind once we were within the 6 month mark of wedding planning, and even more so when crunch time happened (last 3 months, one month, and final week).
A few minutes ago, I was reading a book I received called The Readers’ Room by Antoine Laurain – I’m only a few pages in but the main character is in publishing and there was a section all about writers.
As Laurain wrote about how there are plenty who never get passed the first few pages and fewer who get to type The End, I felt the need to continue my writing journey (slowly by completing a post today).
In terms of the big writing process, I started a novel in January of 2020, and have been coming back to it a little bit but not with my full focus. I want to try to get my creative juices flowing again around the characters and world I created.
Anyway, it feels great to have accomplished my small goal of writing a blog post 🙂
Welcome back and congratulations on the wedding!
