Nature shows as background noise (MARCH SOL 11/31) #sol25

I have always gravitated towards nature documentaries when I want something easy to put on.

It instantly calms down hearing about the chimpanzees using sticks as tools or dolphins trapping fish in clam shells. I can often do housework or tune it out if I’m trying to focus because it isn’t so pressing to know what happened every minute of the episode.

I think because we often put on “Blue Planet” as a family growing up when it was time to relax before/after dinner. It is engrained in me to relax while watching animals in their natural habitats.

What shows (or other background noise) do you put on to relax?

  1. If I want music to relax to I’ll put on my Doctor Who playlist or Dave Brubeck. When it comes to shows I’ll watch The Nanny or Grey’s Anatomy. I’m not sure why I find Grey’s comforting enough to fall asleep to but I do.

  2. Attenborough is an A-list celebrity around my house; if Blue Planet could play on repeat, it would. There is something so soothing about it, for sure. I appreciate you giving us a glimpse of how the show is soothing for you, and how you ask the reader their thoughts.

  3. I love to listen to the Bridgerton soundtracks when I’m working and I need to focus. Lately, we’ve been watching a lot of Korean dramas so we can’t just put it on in the background. We need to read the subtitles. I used to put Animal Planet on TV our anxious dog before leaving the house.

    1. Haha I used to try foreign language shows too, and then would realize I missed a bunch when doing dishes since I’m not bilingual! Bridgerton is probably nice since it’s more classical style music – I’ll try that 🙂
