Last night when I was done studying, I just started singing this to myself and the pets who all got pumped, running around as I turned off lights – which was super cute!
I also felt old that a song that was meant for partying (or having some relations) became the tune for me going to sleep haha!
I want to remember this song for when I have kids and can sing it to them as a nightly get ready for bed adding verses about putting things away and brushing teeth etc.

That’s so fun! I have always been a sing a part of a song or make up lyrics to a song kind of person. Totally appreciate this.

It seems totally reasonable to me to make up song lyrics for all kinds of routine things. My husband does this all of the time. I can tell you though, as a parent, that our teenager really HATES this. (Which is reinforcement for embarrassing parental behavior, obviously.) I love that your pets got all pumped up for bedtime with your song.

I have made all sorts of songs up over the years to help get my kids (personal and students) to do things like putting on their shoes and coat, writing their name on their paper, etc. I love that you are doing it with your pets now!
