Sounds of substituting

This post was written in response to The Daily Post’s Prompt about the word “Volume”

“We have a sub?”
“We don’t know how mean she might be.”
“Good morning, I am Miss G”
“HAHAHAH!”
“SHHHH!”
“Focus on your math.”

“OHMIGOSH!”

“THIS IS SO BORING!”

“SHHH!”

“You need to get your reading done in order to go to recess.”

“PSH!”

“RECESS IS ONLY 15 MINUTES”

“I DON’T CARE”

“SHH!”

“Clean up for recess”

“HAHAHA!”

“I HATE WRITING!”

“I’M NOT DOING IT”

“Line up for lunch”

“WE AREN’T LEAVING UNTIL YOU ARE ALL QUIET!”

“I DON’T CARE WHAT MY TEACHER HEARS”

“Sh.”

“You are here to learn”

“School is stupid”

“HAHAHAH!”

“Lower your volume

“Nobody tells me what to do.”

“WILL YOU BE BACK TOMORROW?”

“This day was boring.”

“Thank you, Miss G”

*sigh* “What a day..”

This was my Monday substituting in a fifth grade classroom with only four more days until summer. The voices of the students rose throughout the day as they became more and more disrespectful. I made it from first bell to the last bell without losing my mind! The other teachers were supportive and thankful for my position as a sub, which helped 🙂
