Knowledge from Kids (MARCH SOL 17/31)

Did you know that the word “peacock” was not used for the whole breed?

I learned earlier this week that peafowl is the name for the type of bird. Peacock is only for the males whereas peahen is used for females.

The babies also have a different name – they are called peachicks.

While reading from National Geographic Kids to the toddler I nanny, I discovered that I was not categorizing these birds correctly.

It is always possible to learn something new!
