Today marked the second week of my second term for my program to become a Registered Vet Tech! 

I am excited to be pursuing my new career path and learning alongside my job as a veterinary assistant. I get to apply what I know from work to classes and vice versa. 

I already feel like I am in the thick of it with lectures relating to Parvovirus in puppies (we had a case earlier in January at the vet which thankfully ended positively), discussing TPRs of many different species (Temperature, Pulse, Respiratory Rate), and looking at tissue samples under the microscope which really are fascinating!

Getting used to only working Monday, Friday, Saturday has been tricky to really know what day of the week it is – but I like being able to focus during the middle three days on organization, studying, and having more time to reflect and decompress. And so far, I am still functional at work (not forgetting new tasks like running the urinalysis or blood tests).
