Now that concerts are being cancelled, many artists are doing Live videos of themselves playing their songs. The Decemberists’ lead singer, Colin Meloy, started what he calls “Isolation Sing-along” on Fridays at noon PST on his Instagram – I watched last week with my dad and we were singing and dancing along like at a concert 🙂 I listened today with Nathan and he played some songs I wasn’t familiar with, but also some of my favorites!

It really feels like you are part of a community because everyone is commenting while he is playing and sometimes he takes suggestions from the comments for his songs. Today, one of mine and Nathan’s friends was also watching and I did not know until one of their comments 😮

He played “Make you better” today, and it made me (and some other listeners) feel very emotional – it’s a beautiful song and in these times, singing along made me tear up. I hope you find solace in his words too 🙂
