Finding Calm Amidst Life’s Chaos

Why is anxiety such a powerful word?

You can feel the emotion as you say it.

Shaking, headaches, disorganization and utter worry do not fall too far behind in the crowd of acquaintances.

The unknown.

Overwhelmed.

Teetering and tottering through the balance of

friends, work, school, family, your boyfriend.

The need to sleep, the need to have fun, the need for money, the need to do what you love, the need to engage, the need to sink inward.

The need for speed without pushing yourself too far.

The need to say yes to anything and everything, but the reality kicking in that you physically and emotionally can’t.

The need to accept that the balance is hard.

The need to rely on calming your mind down the best you know how.

Deep breaths, yoga, dancing, smiling, thinking of him when you can’t see him.

Telling friends and family how you feel.

Telling him how you feel.

Letting those feelings come and pass.

Not doubting that it is normal.

New situations now on top of old.

You are human.

We are all human.

You can only try your best.

Taking the plunge is the first big step.

You are successfully balancing.

You are achieving your goals and seeing friends and making money.

Little by little.

A trickle of water first makes a stream but eventually makes an ocean.
