SOL TUESDAY: Restructuring my workouts

I recently realized that I was only doing cardio workouts with my regular hobby of line dancing.

I used to do more strength and stretching styles every few days as well like yoga, Pilates or barre method.

Since my schedule shifted to having free mornings before class twice a week, I decided to incorporate free classes off YouTube. It’s week 2 of doing Rev+flow from REFIT®️, and it’s really great!

Today was arms and squats and I am sore in a healthy way, rather than my usual sore from sleeping incorrectly or having tight muscles. Especially in my line of work, where I’m holding strong-willed animals in positions for the veterinarian, my body needs to keep moving or I’ll get stiff and tight in the wrong places.

I feel good beginning my mornings with this as well having a necessary jumpstart of some energy and boost of my mood into productivity mode.

Here’s a link to the one I did last week for you to try 🙂

*I didn’t use weights and it still felt it in my arms*

  1. The thing that draws me to exercise is the benefit you wrote of: the jump-start of energy and the mood boost pushes me into a productivity mode. In my recovery mode from surgery and a series of procedures, my exercise is more movement than anything else, and at that, it is slow movement, but I still celebrate what I do each day.

  2. Fun to see the variety of workouts. Age has me mainly walking for cardio and then stretching with yoga and hand weights for arms every other day. It is enough to keep me going which is important when you are over 70! Enjoy your workouts!

  3. Thanks for the link and inspiration. I did really well with videos during the pandemics beginning weeks, but now I seem to need more motivation and more pressure like paying for classes and then feeling guilty if I do not go!
