I know the March SOL has finished since it is now April, BUT I started 8 days late into the challenge of blogging for 31 days. So I want to complete my 31 straight days on my own! This is day 3 of the 8 remaining April posts.
I am following a strategy that I discovered through the March SOL challenge from other slicers – it involves flipping open the nearest book and counting a certain number of lines down the page. You then use the quote you landed on to write a post.
“I had several friends, even though my dad didn’t allow visits outside school” (Broken Angels by Gemma Liviero)
Friendships are often tied to the different parts of your life – school (elementary, middle, high and college), work, marriage, kids, and sometimes other activities you are involved in. I am reinterpreting this quote a bit, and more just thinking about it as a journey into adulthood (where new friends are met outside school). The after college days are interesting times in terms of keeping prior friendships. People either move back home or move away for a job or simply lose contact. Being in college brought everyone together, so your friends were constantly nearby and wanting to see you. Once you have a job and have dispersed yourselves among the various towns you came from, it can be hard to stay in touch. Most people enjoy the few or maybe several friends who they still see on occasion. But unless everyone you were close with stayed in the college town, or your friends from high school still live at home (and you went back after graduation), it can become a difficult situation for socializing.
Yay! I love this post and not just because of my image! It’s so true. It is hard to make friends once school is done. I need to try that meetup, I was even debating getting a new roommate but could anyone fill your shoes, I think not. I had a blast at the beach with you and can’t wait until I see you again!

At least you have your swing class! Meetup seems good so far tho – I’m sure there are some in Eugene. It was a great day 🙂 Ha, well thank you – it was a very nice environment to live in. I really want to come to your show at the hilt center!
